Enable Javascript in Edge

This guide describes how to enable JavaScript in Microsoft Edge.

  1. Select the "Settings and more" menu

    In the top right hand corner of your Edge browser window, you will see a small button with 3 dots in it. This is the Settings and more menu. Click on it.

    The dropdown menu will display.

  2. Select the "Settings" menu option

    At the bottom of the dropdown menu that just displayed, one of the lower options will be labeled Settings. Click on it.

    The Settings page will now display in a new browser tab.

  3. Search for "javascript" related settings

    In the search field at the top of the settings page, type "javascript".

  4. Select the "Javascript" option

    Because you searched for "javascript", Edge will show you the settings related to javascript. Under the All permissions section, click on the option labeled Javascript to view Javascript settings.

  5. Enable Javascript

    Edge provides a few controls for Javascript settings. You can enable Javascript for all sites by using the "Allowed (recommended)" toggle control. Click on it.

    Javascript is enabled (or "allowed") when the toggle control appears like shown below.

  6. Close the "Settings" tab

    Once you enable Javascript as demonstrated in step 5, the setting takes effect immediately. Simply close the Settings page and resume browsing.

    The next time you load the site in Edge, Javascript will be enabled and the site should load.
