Enable JavaScript in Safari

This guide describes how to enable JavaScript in Apple Safari.

  1. Select the "Safari" menu

    With a Safari browser window open and active; the Safari menu should display in the top left of your screen. Click on it.

    The dropdown menu will display.

  2. Select the "Preferences" menu option

    In the dropdown menu that just displayed, one of the options will be labeled Preferences. Click on it.

  3. Select the "Security" option

    The Safari Preferences window has multiple sections, indicated by options along the top of the window (General/Tabs/AutoFill etc). Click the Security option to view security related options.

  4. Enable JavaScript

    Safari provides a checkbox control labeled Enable Javascript. Click on it.

    Javascript is enabled when this checkbox appears checked.

  5. Close the "Preferences" window

    Once you enable JavaScript as demonstrated in step 4, simply close the Preferences window and resume browsing.

    The next time you load the site in Safari, Javascript will be enabled and the site should load.
